I saw the show last night; I believe tonight is the official opening? I enjoyed it, but I think there are still many changes that should be made.
The scene that came back to me this morning (should I say “haunted me”?) was the Happy/Sad encounter between Gomez and Wednesday. Surely this is key to getting the heart into the show and deserves better staging. Nathan Lane sang the song beautifully, but I was really disappointed that there was no reaction from Krysta Rodriguez. Yes, she managed her standard slump so she stayed in character, but is there no development possible in that character? Perhaps the director could help her by creating some movement in that big open stage! What I remember is the two people standing stiffly next to one another. Isn’t there a swing? Couldn’t Gomez push her on the swing until one of them has a realization that she’s not a little girl anymore? Maybe that wouldn’t work or has been tried, but the staging as is does not use the space well.
I liked the range of singing styles in the show. I started paying attention to that after Krysta Rodriguez’ first song. It irritated me because her style is so standard now, straight out of Wicked. The music even sounded reminiscent of Wicked. That made me worry that the whole show would be derivative. But after that it was fun to hear Bebe Neuwirth’s croaking singing voice and Carolee Carmello’s belting. Of course, Nathan Lane always sings beautifully in his own style.
I really expected more ghoulish, Addams-family touches. The chorus, for instance, seemed imported from some other musical like Sweeney Todd. I wished that they had been dressed/portrayed differently. I was expecting an Edward Gorey-like ensemble. I guess that’s been done before (for Dracula) but I’d like to see them all in shades of gray, as if all the paintings they inhabit were in grisaille. The friends who accompanied me last night said they were disappointed that Thing and Cousin It didn’t have more prominent roles. We all loved Thing’s first appearance at the curtain’s edge, but did he even show up after that?
“The Moon and Me” is a lovely scene and I enjoyed it, but I couldn’t see how it worked into the general flow of the musical. It seemed a set piece. Isn’t there any way to incorporate it better into the plot?
I didn’t like “Clandango.” For a song that is not very strong, it called too much attention to itself with its volume. I thought “Full Disclosure” got way too loud too, though it is a very very good scene.
I did like Second Banana (but couldn’t it have a better name? Who’s she supposed to be second banana to? Her daughter?) and I loved The Swordfight/Tango.

Finally, there is the matter of Gomez’ accent. All three of us separately decided that the accent/s Nathan Lane sometimes uses for Gomez are wrong. Sometimes he sounded German (ach!,) sometimes Transylvanian, sometimes there was no accent. He never sounded Spanish or French. When we discussed this, all of us thought that Nathan Lane should just drop the accent. He can create the character well enough without it!
So there’s my 2 cents, 3 cents, etc.

Wow, Laura, thanks for sharing in such detail. I almost feel as if I’ve been there. Most interesting to me is the matter of Gomez’s accent. I wonder if he’s had this problem throughout? Anyone??

    • Catherine says:

Here’s how Piet Levy described Lane’s accent in a review on trueslant.com:

in his “Timon from ‘The Lion King’ meets Antonio Banderas’ Puss in Boots” accent.

      Funny!

      • jo ann says:

Such fun! after reading about the musical, I hope it tours someday after a HIT on BROADWAY. Chicago a great place to start.

    • Clara says:

Laura, you are right on! My thoughts exactly from the randomness of the ensemble (actually seemed distracting to me) to the varied singing styles. I also question the structure of it…It didn’t really seem to flow and they threw the widely known theme song in at an awkward tme. I wish Grandma had more of a role too. I think it still needs some work but wish it well!! There’s definitely a lot of talent in the cast to utilize.

    • Gina says:

Laura – I think you’re right on the money with your comments. I saw the show last night. I must say – it was hysterical. At last night’s performance, Bebe Neuwirth, Nathan Lane and the performers who portray Uncle Fester and Lucas lost it at the table scene where Grandmama has her say on things (I’m assuming she was ad-libbing part of the script for this scene. She was very funny.). I got chills when the show opened and I saw Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth standing onstage. It was a surreal experience. My husband and I really enjoyed this show and the remarkable performances.

  2. Bill says:

That was certainly thorough, Laura. You put quite a bit of work into the post. Thank you.

  3. Bill says:

I was with Laura at the Wednesday’s performance. It was a veery good show but I have to agree with Laura that the fluctuation in Nathan Lane’s accents was quite distracting. Other than that, I though the show was very good.

I’m the Bill from Dec 9, not to be confused with the Bill from Dec 10. From now on, I shall be BillT to differentiate myself from the ten zillion other Bills out there.

  5. Mark W says:

Saw it tonight and hated it. Its a mess guys, Words like Awkward, Random and Confusing, Disappointing, Underwhelming… all come to mind. Nathan Lane clearly tries to save this show on his own merit and talent and struggles to stay above water amidst a script that doesn’t work, Music that is non-memorable (at best) and a story that fails to capture the charm of what made the Addams family work in the first place. Why would anyone let a couple of Brits with no real experience on Broadway take-on a great American Icon like the Addams Family. You all missed the mark by miles. This show will die a horrible death on Broadway and rightly so. Send the Brits back across the pond…please! Dont ever give Phelim McDermott and Julian Crouch another shot at our American Culture. This was a waste of money and night out with my family. Shame on you all. Nathan Lane, keep your chin up this will all be over soon!

    • BillT says:

Wow! This could explain why the producers took the drastic step of bringing in Jerry Zaks and basically turning the show over to him to fix. This is exactly what Ray Stark did on Funny Girl when Jerome Robbins was enlisted during tryouts. We all saw that turned out. There IS hope.

    • Liz R says:

Wow, Mark. That’s harsh. Fortunately, not everyone shares your opinion. I’m not seeing the show till April, but I feel sure it will be tweaked and tightened to a great production by then!

  6. Sean says:

Mark, while I totally agree that Phelim and Julian weren’t the best directors, it’s not all on them. Rick Elice’s book has issues, Andrew Lippa’s score could use reworking (though I found MANY songs to be memorable, as did the rest of the audience around me who were actually singing some songs already on the way out), and Sergio’s choreography could be tightened. It’s a combined effort to make a production work, and I personally think you’re putting too much blame on Phelim and Julian (and they have had experience dealing with twisted things that turned out to be a success). Yes, Jerry Zaks is in now to help “save” the show, but the producers could’ve fired Phelim and Julian if they truly thought they made the show “a mess” and a “waste of money” ($16.5 million!).

But you our entitled to your opinions. Here are mine, in case anyone’s interested…

The Addams Family musical needs work. Having seen it four times, once in previews and then after opening with people who’ve never seen it before, there are some big flaws in this a that has potential. Right now, it’s an enjoyable night in the theatre. Fun, entertaining, but definitely not a perfect, great piece of theatre.

    Overall thoughts…

I really liked Andrew Lippa’s score. “Second Banana,” “Clandango,” “The Moon and Me,” “Crazier Than You,” “Happy/Sad,” “Waiting” and “Pulled” are some great numbers in my opinion. He does a nice job of giving each character his/her own music-type, with Wednesday/Lucas having a pop-rock sound and Fester a vaudevillian one. While some lyrics are boring, meaningless, and unimaginative (like the end of “Clandango” and parts of “Second Banana”), others are great (as in “Happy/Sad” or “Waiting”). With a rewrites and strengthening of the characters’ conflicts/stories, the songs can be very successful.

The set was spectacular, even from my partial view seats. The Addams mansion was very gothic, old, creepy, and Addamsey. I could see the Family living there. The way it’s reconfigured during the show with the stairs and all is inventive staging, and other scenes, like in the graveyard/in front of the home are eerie and nice. I’m not sure I am in love with the Ancestors-moving-the trees in the beginning of Act 1 with the Beinekes’ arrival. It worked with the gravestones, but not so much with trees I felt. The curtain was a beautiful, lush piece of scenery used very effectively throughout to frame scenes.

Lighting was nice. I liked that hardly any yellow/flesh-toned lights were used on Morticia, adding to her very pale, creepily beautiful appearance. At some points, the lighting made the scene visually stunning. In “Second Banana,” for example, as Morticia is standing in front of the closing curtains, her pale white skin under bluish light in the dark-purple/black dress in front of the hot magenta curtains was one of my favorite images of the show.

Sergio Trujillo’s choreography was okay. Nothing sticks out, nothing was special. I liked the Ancestors’ creepy movements and some of Bebe’s limited moves, but major dance sequences, like in the opening scene, “Clandango,” or during the climax of the show in Gomez and Morticia’s Swordfight/Tango was a boring mess. Bebe needs to be highlighted more, and if you’re going to have the Ancestors dance, make it meaningful. I found myself asking “Why are they there?” for much of the Tango/Swordfight, and their appearance in Clandango seemed dramatic, but then simmered down during their dance with Wednesday. Oh, and Bebe needs more.

    Characters…

Gomez has little reason to be onstage now, and since he’s the patriarch of the Addams clan, I feel he needs a much more developed character. I was trying to figure out his conflict/purpose in the show, and I had a very hard time figuring one out. He’s just there to say a few witty lines and to share a few scenes with Morticia (whose story also needs tightening/reworking), and then he has one “big” number, “Happy/Sad.” The problem with that number is that while it’s a slower, touching little number, it comes about 10 minutes into Act 2, basically resolving the Wednesday-Lucas issue (with an hour left in the show). After this, the only thing Gomez has to do is worry about his wife, but the resolve to that issue also comes to an end to quickly and is not a strong ending at all. The Beinekes have a much stronger resolution to their marriage problem with Mal’s “In the Arms.” The Swordfight/Tango between Gomez and Morticia right now is pretty unengaging, with Nathan and Bebe both looking bored onstage. I feel like we need o see more Gomez, and the show needs to work him in more without spreading itself too thin with too many subplots. He needs to be more involved with his family, instead of just getting involved for a brief time in Act 2.

Morticia’s conflict needs to be stronger. Right now, she’s struggling with aging and becoming “Second Banana” to her family. While I personally love Bebe’s second act solo, “Second Banana,” it still needs more meaning instead of just giving a million examples of second bananas. The brief reprise she does immediately afterwards makes the song just fade away meaninglessly (and I think there’s alot of thinking out loud/unnecessary exposition in the reprise that could be rewritten in a way to strengthen her internal struggle without having her say everything to the audience.) I think Bebe has a gorgeous, unique voice and she’s a killer dancer, and the creatives should take note of that! Morticia needs more. From the preview I saw to the show after opening, they’d already rewritten Second Banana and given Bebe a longer dance break, but the choreography leaves you wanting so much more. While you might not think the film or TV-show Morticia would dance a lot or sing (except for Carolyn Jones’ Japanese howling), the creators of the musical have made it so that Morticia is a singing-dancing, dark character, and they need to use it more.

The Beinekes are overpowering the Addamses. That’s not good in a musical called “The Addams Family.” Alice Beineke’s breakdown at the end of Act One, “Waiting,” is a really nice, powerful, entertaining number where Carolee really gets to show off her pipes, but it gives Alice way more to work with than Morticia. Mals’ second act number, “In the Arms,” a hilarious, outrageous song is much stronger than “Happy/Sad.” Also, I felt much more “satisfied” after the resolution of the Beinekes’ problem than after the Addams’ Swordfight/Tango. WHile I don’t want any of the Beinekes’ numbers to be cut (because they really are some of the best and most memorable parts of the show), in order to keep them and have a successful story, the Addams need a serious boost.

Grandma needs to be onstage more. When you’ve got a powerhouse comic actress like Jackie Hoffman, you can’t keep her offstage for an entire hour (basically all of Act 2). Whenever she was onstage, she brought the house down and the show to a halt with her outrageously hilarious lines. The show needs more laughs, and I think this can be done without giving Grandma an entire song or scene. Just mix her up in there more. Make her a part of the family (even though she may not even be)…

Wednesday has some strange lines that I feel are awkward and an illogical thing for her character to say. I’m not sure she would think her family’s not normal since she’s homeschooled and we know nothing of how often she sees the outside world. Lucas seems to think she’s fine, so why would she be so worried about what other’s think fo her family? Same with Gomez. After his strange lines showcasing Addams weirdness, he adds, “I go too far.” Would Gomez know what going too far is? He likes swordfighting, has torture equipment and a giant squid in his basement, and has a hand as a servant. What’s too far for him/how would he know? I think it’d be so much more fitting and Addamsey if the family didn’t recognize its weirdness. They’re the Addams Family afterall.

The ending of the show is a huge letdown and such a…low ending. Like a critic said in a review, the ending is a tie-up-all-lose-ends-let’s-make-a-happy-ending type finish, with every character, including the Ancestors gathering onstage in a big happy family and all unresolved conflicts (like Pugsley’s conflict, Fester’s love, Grandmama’s “dilemma”) fixed in just a couple of minutes. Once the cast starts assembling onstage, you know the show’s ending, but both times I’ve seen it, I’ve felt that I’ve wanted SO much more and it’s such a disappointing finale. I think there are a lot of subplots right now that aren’t strong enough to support the overall conflict, thus dragging the entire show down and leaving you unsure of whose story you just saw/who you should be focusing on. While the musical is about the Addams family, I feel like there’s a way to emphasize the entire family without giving each character a thin storyline and thus making the entire family seem weaker than the 3-person Beineke family with just two big, strong issues: Mal & Alice’s marriage and Lucas. The show needs to end stronger. Act One ended with a bang (I thought) with part two of “Full Disclosure,” but “Move Into the Darkness” is not a very strong song, and the scenes that occur at the end, while a bit touching, leaves you wanting so much more and I did not want the show to end the way it did.

    • Patty says:

Sean, keep it down to a dull roar…no one is going to take the time to read a critique the length of yours. I personally go on these sites to get a “feel” for people’s opinions, not a short story…jeez.

  7. Sue Kirchner says:

Here’s my two cents, from a Mom who took her kids to see the play. I wrote this review for my blog http://www.ChocolateCakeMoments.com, where we share ideas on how to have more family fun, but thought it might be interesting to add to the discussion here.

Over the Holiday Break, we took the kids to see the new Addams Family Musical in Chicago. Before going, we searched everywhere online to see if the play was family friendly but we found no information. Granted it was the premiere of the play so there weren’t a lot of reviews out there, but I thought we would find something on whether it was suitable for kids or not. (The show’s website needs to add some information on that.) All we saw was a blurb on the general story – Wednesday is 18 and falls in love for the first time with a “normal” boy. The Addams Family invites the boy’s family for dinner and hilarity ensues.

So, we went for it as a family Holiday treat.

On one hand, the price of the tickets sort of excludes children. However, as I said, we wanted to do something special during Holiday Break, our friends could get us all great tickets, my husband and I fondly remember the Addams Family from our youth, and our kids have finally reached an age where they won’t get freaked out when the theater gets loud or dark or totally embarrass us by kicking seats, demanding snacks, or pointing things out during the play. (”Look Mom, there’s a guy back there!”)They are 10 and 7.

The play, it turns out, is not really suitable for children. The play focuses a lot on sex and a lot of the humor, especially in the first half, is sexual innuendo. Fortunately, it went over my kids’ heads so they focused on the singing, dancing and especially the slapstick comedy so … they LOVED it! They loved Nathan Lane’s enthusiastic portrayal of Gomez, especially his sword fighting. He was fabulously funny for adults and children. (”Mom, he’s the voice of Timon!”) Bebe Neuwirth fit the part of Morticia perfectly but the real stars of the show for the kids were Uncle Fester and Grandma, played by Kevin Chamberlin and Jackie Hoffman. They loved Uncle Fester falling in love with the moon and the way they were able to fake him flying on stage was truly magical. And, when Grandma asks to be spanked at the dinner table the adults and the kids were laughing their heads off … for different reasons … but who cares. The kids loved the monster under the bed scene and I misted up when Bebe sang the Second Banana song about Mom’s stepping back to let their children shine. We thought the set design was incredible, as well.

Our kids weren’t the only ones in the theater that night so I was glad that we weren’t the only adventurous parents. We did have to “educate” the kids on who the Addams Family was – yet another generational gap. We went to the library and found some old tapes of the Addams Family TV show before we went so they would recognize some of the characters, even though we knew the play wouldn’t really draw all that much from the TV show.

Bottomline, even though my kids loved it, I would recommend getting a babysitter and go with some friends. You’ll enjoy the play a lot more if you aren’t cringing and wondering if the kids understood that joke.

    • Liz R says:

Thanks for the insight, Sue. I love how everyone has their own take on the show, and I can just picture you sneaking a peek at your little ones to see if you need to be worried ;~|

Sounds like there was plenty going on to keep them occupied. I can’t wait to see for myself in the Spring!

Received an e-mail from Joe C. He saw the show on March 17 and had these comments:

    show was great
the actors did a great job
    the scenery was stupendous
the songs are memorable- cd coming soon?
    the costumes were exquisite
made for a great time in the greatest city in the world

    thank you so much

Thank YOU so much, Joe. So glad you enjoyed the show! And the CD will be available some time in June. Keep checking back for an exact release date.

  9. Mark says:

Was at the opening last night. Quite possibly one of the dullest evenings I have ever spent in the theatre. Plain and simple it just wasn’t entertaining. Nathan Lane had to work way too hard for laughs that really wernt there. Bebe Neuwirth is a spectacular talent primarily in song and dance. Not to give her a significant song in the first act demonstrates the ineptitude of the artistic team. This was on a level below Young Frankenstein. I wish them well but I cant endorse this show.

  10. Angela says:

    Young Frankenstein was the pits.

  11. Warren says:

I saw the show and it was wonderful. A perfect blend of Characters.Once the normal boys family showed up for dinner I couldn’t stop laughing. Critics or no critics you must see this. I promise you will not be disappointed.
it’s so nice to have a blog like this to share views. it is well put together and maintained. Please contact me my company would be interested in some ad space if avaliable.

  12. Bill says:

What a lot of criticism for a play audiences are going crazy over. Tickets are being sold as fast as they can be printed. Are all the rest of us seeing a different play?

Relax and enjoy – it was Great!

Jackie Hoffman was Grandmama and she will have you laughing in a heartbeat.

    Bill

  13. Amanda Atkinson says:

I saw the show and I was very impressed. Nathan Lane is wonderful as Gomez, and Bebe plays Morticia as if she were actually Morticia, she is great. The cast is amazing, and it really is quite a show. The only complaint I have is that Wesley Taylor (Lucas) did not have more singing roles. The show is iffy for kids under 8, but It really captures the spirit and the humor of the television series.

    • Amanda Atkinson says:

Actually, Wesley Taylor really steals the show in my opinion, he is quickly becoming one of broadways big stars. (Also hes adorable!)

      • Sheri says:

I have to agree with you, Amanda. Welsey is fantastic! I love watching his youtube vids. He is taking full advantage of his talents and opportunities. I believe he’ll have a long life on Broadway!

  14. Cindy Owens says:

Be careful at the bar. It turns out that the Nederlanders charge an extra dollar for each item and give it to the bartenders… FYI…

    • Sheri says:

Interesting, Cindy. So that means we shouldn’t feel like we have to leave a tip ;~) Drinks at the theatre are ridiculously priced, anyway!

  15. Xena says:

Sadly, my only ‘experience’ with this show is via the soundtrack (thank the gods for soundtracks!) and the few vids up on youtube. I don’t live in the US, much less anywhere near NYC, so unless the producers are gracious enough to put out a performance DVD (Please! Please! Please!) I will never get to see this show (which is, by the way, the only Broadway show I’ve ever actually yearned to see). But I am eating up every tidbit of this show I can find, and I want everyone to know that I LOVE this show, it’s message of understanding, fun and family..and I will *always* love The Addams Family. May the show run for years and years!

  16. Denise says:

The characters definitely need work. Unfortunately, the night we went, Nathan Lane did not appear…it was super distracting to wonder how he would have delivered that line, sang that song, etc. I was sooooo disappointed! I don’t know if my dislike for the play was due to my distraction/disappointment or due to the dullness of some of the songs. I drifted away several times and found myself wishing the show would hurry up and end. Lurch…too silly from the beginning. Grandmama…how about we call her “Grandmama” and not Gramma? She was cute, but some of the jokes were predictable. Gomez…he’s a New York business man…what’s with the accent? Gomez’s understudy…this is a pop culture piece…tone down the dramatic voice and overly-concerned eyebrows. And how about smiling once? Gomez is a happy dad and very loving husband. The reason Nathan Lane makes this production work has to be his uniqueness. The understudy is classic theater dull. Morticia…should be cool and sexy, not self conscious…and the lisp was hard to ignore. Fester…adorable. Pugsly…cute, but needed to be stronger. Everyone else was ok. I’m still mad at being stiffed by Nathan Lane.

  17. Sheri says:

Wow, I’m surprised that Lane was out on the 19th, when he has a scheduled vacation the following week. Did they advertise that he would be out, or offer to exchange tickets for another night?

I’m sorry you had such a bad experience. I have to wonder if it would have been totally different if you weren’t so disappointed about Lane. I’ve heard (especially on this blog) that his sub is excellent. He’ll be on all next week, so I guess we’ll find out from others.

  18. I saw the show twice, Tuesday Aug. 25th, and again Wednesday August 26th. I thought Merwin Foard was an Excellent Gomez and interacted with all characters perfectly. That’s what one would expect of any Broadway Production. Being that the show is at the Lunt-Fontanne Theater was especially special, having grown up so close to the Lunt-Fontanne home, Ten chimneys, in Genness depot Wisconsin. I love the theater decor in the lounge, so much history!

I went to see The ADDAMS FAMILY mainly because I am a big fan of Lilith, and I expected exquisite perfection and timing from Ms. Neuwirth as Morticia Addams. Boy, did she deliver! I love her interpretation of Morticia, she delivers with such dead pan expression and cold chilling wit. I just had to return the next day to see it one more time, before I headed back to Milwaukee.

Merwin Foard was a debonair Gomez to the hilt! I caught the Preview tour in Chicago months ago, and was surprised by some of the changes, but it all seems to come together and deliver what I expect, ENTERTAINMENT!
I hope the show has a nice long run, it’s got a great cast, music and lives up to the ADDAMS FAMILY VALUES instilled in the characters by their creator, Charles Addams. BRAVO!!!!

  19. Antoinette & Dan says:

We saw The Addams Family on Saturday & both loved it. The performances by Nathan Lane & Bebe Neuwirth were amazing. Thought that the performances from Wednesday & Uncle Fester were also very good. Liked the music so much that I bought the score afterwards. Was surprised to like this musical as much as we did given the so so reviews. Totally enjoyed it, an up to date Addams Family revue. Relax, enjoy, have a good time.

  20. Ann says:

I’ve had the happy experience of seeing this show 12 times–either repeats with some of my own children or out of town visitors ask if Mr. Nathan Lane is on stage anywhere. It always is well received by my family/friends but have to say that Mr. Lane is absolutely the main attraction. I remember reading a review of one of his play’s, this is years back, and the critic wrote, ‘Nathan Lane is the reason for the evening.’ Addams Family is a sweet and fun show, but Nathan Lane really delivers the goods. He is sui generis and Broadway shines brighter when he’s here.

  21. Lisa says:

We saw the show over the summer. We all loved it! Our daughter has now seen it 3 times, and seeing we live in California I think that says something!
You are in for a fun night if you choose to see the Addams Family!

  22. Sarah says:

Saw the show twice so far. Once in May and again in June the day before the Tony Awards.

Both times were so very different. The first time, I had seats in the very last row in orch. And the 2nd time I had first row center. Needless to say, the 2nd time was better because being able to see facial expressions is the main key. For instance, when Gomez is at the table trying to make Morticia laugh, that scene has to be my favorite! Bebe does not crack a smile once! THAT is fine acting because Nathan is just too funny and goes on with it for a good 2 minutes. Anyway, I really enjoyed all of the performances. Krysta really stands out. The show runs so smoothly. I happen to love Gomez’s song “Happy Sad.” The words are very touching and memorable.. I left the first time actually remembering the words to the songs when I didn’t own the CD yet.

Stage door is great. Nathan Lane does not come out. For anyone at anytime. That’s just his way I guess. Bebe mostly comes out at night after the eve shows. I didn’t get to meet her the first time, but did the 2nd and she was lovely. That next day, I was fortunate enough to attend the Tony awards and it was a complete surprise when Nathan & Bebe walked out to present. Nobody knew and I was excited. Also during a commercial, Jackie Hoffman came out to read a funny excerpt from “Celebrity Autobiography.” It was funny and she was also a surprise! To bad they didn’t air it.

So I’m hoping I get to go back a few more times. To be honest, I don’t think the show would be as great without Nathan and Bebe but I am open to seeing understudies if I ever have to. I wouldn’t not go if they were out because I enjoy the show that much.

  23. Nor says:

Really disappointing show on Friday 2/11/11. Nathan Lane was absent and there was no announcement or signs indicating this. Bebe was on vacation, and again, no announcement on the website. The show really suffered and my party of 6 did not enjoy it. The theater handled it terribly.

  24. Curtis says:

There is no excuse for the lack of information.

  25. Monica says:

Can anyone help me with the decision of whether or not to take a Girl Scout troop to see this? Went to Shrek last year and loved it – thought Addams Family would be fun for this year. I am concerned about appropriateness for 10 year olds based on the comments regarding sexual content. Don’t want a lot of angry moms after the show! Is there a scene where Fester is inappropriate with a ball? That was posted somewhere else online. Thanks.

    • Mary-Ellen says:

Monica. Did you end up taking your gs troop to see Adams family? I too have an 11 yr ol girl curious I I should take her? Much thanks.
      Mary-Ellen

  26. Undeniably imagine that that you stated. Your favorite reason appeared to be on the internet the simplest thing to be aware of. I say to you, I definitely get irked even as people consider worries that they plainly do not recognize about. You managed to hit the nail upon the highest and also defined out the entire thing without having side effect , people could take a signal. Will probably be back to get more. Thank you

  27. Above the review is excellent one.Every one looking for this kind of valuable tips.
